Rawether UNICODE Support
Is Inconsistent

Knowledge Base ID

KB10290001
Category OPEN BUG

Effected Product

Rawether/WINDIS32  - Win32 NDIS Framework

Effected Versions

All
Effected Platforms All

Symptoms

Rawether UNICODE support is inconsistent.

UNICODE support is provided for some, but not all, functions that take passed-in string parameters. No attempt is made to map returned string information based on the UNICODE compiler setting.

Cause

This is a design and implementation deficiency on the part of PCAUSA.

Discussion

Unfortunately there isn't a simple fix for this bug that will not have an undesirable side effect of requiring all existing Rawether customers recompile and possibly modify their existing, working, applications to accommodate this change.

PCAUSA does take this deficiency seriously and will make improvements in the next major Rawether release.

Status

October 29, 2000 The fix to this bug is planned for the next major Rawether release.
