Using The Rawether Win32 NDIS API
Basically all that is required for you to use the Rawether Win32 NDIS API in your own application is to include necessary Win32 NDIS header files and to link to the W32N55 import library when building your application. The necessary header files and import library are included with the Rawether Software Development Kit (SDK).
If you order Rawether for Windows you will receive sources to several sample applications that demonstrate use of the Win32 NDIS API. The Rawether Sample applications include:
 | NDIScope MFC Application - Which allows the user to dynamically select
and bind with any installed Ethernet adapter and then displays adapter information. The
Open button allows the user to select the protocols to be captured, and then starts the
HookPeek application. |
| HookPeek Win32 Console Application - Which binds with a specified adapter and then dumps received packets to the console display. |
If desired, you can download executable versions of the NDIScope and HookPeek applications. The download is a Windows Installer MSI file that will install the two applications, DLL and necessary driver for you. You can also uninstall the samples in the ordinary way after your evaluation.
In addition, Rawether for Windows includes several additional sample console applications that illustrate "the basics" of using the Rawether API.
Rawether also includes support for the Microsoft .NET Framework called "Rawether .NET". Rawether .NET is a rich C# class library that consists of almost 200,000 lines of C# code (Almost a million lines if code comments are included...).
Use of the Rawether .NET API is illustrated by a comprehensive C# console application, companion NUnit tests and a C# Windows Form implementation of NDIScope.

Follow the link below to download and install the Rawether for Windows Sample Executables. The downloaded components include the NDIScope MFC application and the supporting runtime DLL and NDIS protocol driver components as well as additional utilities and tools.
The NDIScope sample application illustrates techniques for choosing an adapter from your application and provides a very basic packet monitoring capability that simply makes HEX dumps of raw Ethernet packets to the console. NDIScope also has a "Properties" facility that illustrates making and interpreting NDIS OIDs from an application.
Sources to NDIScope are included in the Rawether SDK.
