Rawether for Windows CE

November 30, 2004 -- PCAUSA releases Rawether for Windows CE V4.0.14.15 (Build 0415). This release includes bug fixes and enhancements to the Pocket PC 2003 and Windows Mobile 2003 sample applications.

July 29, 2003 -- PCAUSA extends Rawether for Windows CE to include support for Windows CE 4.2 (Pocket PC 2003). Now common application sources can be used to build applications that "directly" access NDIS network interface card (NIC) drivers on both Pocket PC 2002 and Pocket PC 2003.

December 9, 2002 -- PCAUSA releases Rawether for Windows CE, a framework for development of Windows CE 3.0 products that "directly" access NDIS network interface card (NIC) drivers from Win32 applications.

Rawether consists of a dynamically-loaded NDIS protocol driver and API that allows a Win32 application to access NDIS LAN adapters to make NDIS requests to query and set information and to send and receive "raw" Ethernet packets.

Versions of Rawether for Windows CE are already being incorporated into Windows CE products for 802.11b products, including:

bullet802.11b Adapter Utilities (Ship with adapter)
bullet802.11b WLAN Management Utilities (Various Third Parties)

If you have been waiting for the Windows CE version of Rawether, then the wait is over...

Rawether .NET for the .NET Compact Framework is Coming!!!

October, 2004 -- Rawether .NET, the .NET Framework interface to PCAUSA NDIS protocol drivers, is being extended to support the .NET Compact Framework. This means that a common API can be used to interact between user-mode applications and the Rawether NDIS protocol drivers.

Rawether .NET is a comprehensive API written from the ground up to provide a consistent user-mode interface to the Rawether NDIS protocol drivers. This API provides the means for your .NET application to interact with NDIS miniport drivers, including Ethernet and 802.11 (using 802.3 emulation) adapters, to make NDIS requests to query and set information using the Rawether NDIS protocol drivers as a "relay".

The capabilities provided by Rawether .NET are commonly used to allow applications to manage special adapter functionality. For example, Rawether is widely used to manage 802.11 and powerline adapter functionality.

The Rawether .NET API provided for the .NET Compact Framework is the rich interface as provided on "Big Windows". More information about Rawether .NET API is available at:

http://www.rawether.net/DotNet/default.htm

Rawether .NET for the .NET Compact Framework is expected to be released in late November, 2004.
